Mustangs Claim FHS 7v7 Title at Viera

Mustangs Claim FHS 7v7 Title at Viera The Merritt Island Mustangs captured the FHS 7v7 Tournament championship at Viera High School this past weekend with a hard-fought win over Ocala Vanguard. The title-clinching drive was commanded by quarterback Kevin Verpaele, who orchestrated the late-game march and set up the game-winning touchdown, delivered by Kamar Fielder. Several players stood out throughout the day. William Bouloute and Deshaun Thomas made key plays on both sides of the ball, while Kevin Verpaele’s poise and leadership keyed the offense. Defensively and on special teams, Drew Coleman and Drew Sarver provided timely stops and momentum-shifting plays. The victory is a testament to the team’s preparation, toughness, and depth. The Mustangs will carry this momentum forward as they continue their season — a proud weekend for the program and Mustang Nation.
